If you’re in the mood for some history, attend the Marietta Pilgrimage Christmas Home Tour. You can still enjoy seeing decorated homes and museums as the event transitions to a self-guided tour this year. The Marietta Visitors Bureau and Cobb Landmarks & Historical Society found it best to go for this option in light of the current conditions concerning COVID-19.

Event attendees may purchase their Marietta Pilgrimage Walking Tour booklet for $25 at the Marietta Welcome Center or the William Root House. This will include the map of participating homes and a scavenger hunt for young guests. As you view the homes, you pick your winners for the “Best Traditional Decor,” “Most Over-The-Top Decor,” and “Best Light Display” awards.

The display will run from December 4 to 18. Please note that homes may only be enjoyed from the sidewalk and doors will not be open to the public. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Marietta Visitors Bureau and Cobb Landmarks. Click here to purchase your booklets.

Lights of Joy

Kennesaw, GA

Witness a sea of lights when you visit Lights of Joy, a contestant in ABC’s Great Light Fight in 2019. This residential light show is the largest in Georgia with over 750,000 pieces. They claim to have an even better display this year compared to their time on the competition, so it’s definitely worth checking out!

The frontage is 700 ft. long, and the entire space will be landscaped and lighted! There will also be over 200 trees dripping with lights, with one of them donning over 23,000 lights! To make things even more fun, many portions of the yard display are synchronized to music on 99.1 FM. How awesome is that?

The community is already excited about this event! You may drop by beginning November 30, from 6 to 11 PM every night. All are welcome and admission is free. Stay updated via their Facebook Event.
