These 7 Cobb County Charities Need Your Donations

Cobb County is without a doubt a wonderful place to call home. Its proximity to Atlanta and beautiful weather means it’s packed with opportunities for both work and play.

Even so, too many families in Cobb County cannot provide for their basic needs and must rely on charities to stay afloat. There are dozens of organizations throughout Cobb County committed to serving these families.

MUST Ministries

MUST Ministries is a Christian charity providing services to all in Cobb County. This charity’s work expands beyond providing basic necessities and extends into helping individuals find jobs suited to their unique abilities and offering rental assistance to those experiencing housing insecurity. This full slate of services is only made possible by donations to fund the programs MUST Ministries runs. This charity is committed to financial transparency so you can be sure that your money is going to help those in need. Any amount helps – for example, a donation of just $30 dollars provides 2 blankets for a charity recipient.

DREAM Dachshund Rescue

These hot dogs don’t come with ketchup and mustard, but they’re just as good. DREAM Dachshund Rescue takes in dachshunds and dachshund-mixes that may have trouble finding furever homes due to their complex medical needs. The Dream Team then finds foster families who can provide the type of quality care that each dog deserves. DREAM Dachshund Rescue also helps other rescue organizations by documenting their processes so that success can be replicated and every dog can find a loving home. Donations to these dogs ensure that they can continue to get the care they need – no matter the cost.

The Hope Box

The Hope Box is an organization addressing the heartbreaking issue of infant and child abandonment. It achieves this through many efforts, chief among them is by being the first-response team when a baby has been dropped off at a safe haven location in accordance with Georgia’s safe haven laws. The team at the Hope Box gets to work to secure resources and care for the infant, and when possible, the mother. Monetary donations are always appreciated, as The Hope Box needs funding in order to continue rescuing infants and giving babies and their families the support they need. You can also donate your time by taking the Safe Haven Training to learn about the issue of infant abandonment in Cobb County.

The Specially Gifted Foundation is devoted to making sure Cobb County is the best place to live for special needs children. The foundation was started in 2020 by Bree Kernion Lanham and Macey Price, two individuals with personal experience with special needs children. The Specially Gifted Foundation is unique because families of children with disabilities can post their stories on the foundation’s website so donors like you can personally get to know the people you’ll be helping. This way, you can be sure that your money is going directly to pay for a bigger wheelchair or a much-deserved vacation to a disability-friendly location.
