Best Bakeries in Cobb County: 6 Local Spots for Pastries, Bread, and Sweet Treats

Maybe it’s just me, but there’s nothing a good pastry can’t fix. And we’re lucky, because Cobb County has some seriously amazing bakeries to choose from. Places you have dreams about, that you always want to take your out-of-town guests to, places you save your cheat day for!

Below are six of my absolute favorites. When I’m out showing houses or in between client meetings and I’m in the neighborhood, you can bet I’m stopping in.

Honeysuckle Biscuits & Bakery

Honeysuckle is the kind of local bakery that makes you want to become a regular. The space is warm, welcoming, and full of personality, and the service makes you feel right at home from the second you walk in.

The Mountain Biscuit is a standout, stacked with bacon, sausage, egg, and melty cheese on a fluffy, buttery biscuit that’s crisp on the outside and soft inside. On the sweeter side, the coconut cream cheese cake is a must. They also offer several gluten-free options, so there’s something for everyone.

Douceur De France – Bakery & Brunch

Douceur De France brings a true French café experience to Marietta. The atmosphere is charming and relaxed, with an elegant feel that makes it easy to settle in for a slow breakfast or brunch.

Their croissants are award-winning and made with traditional French technique. The smoked salmon tartine is fresh and balanced, and the egg sandwich on a flaky croissant with spinach is simple and perfectly done. The pastry case is filled with tarts, éclairs, and seasonal specialties that make it hard to leave with just one thing.

McEntyre’s Bakery is a Smyrna institution that has been serving the community since 1947. It has that classic neighborhood bakery feel where staff know customers by name and regulars stop in daily.

The cases are packed with cakes, doughnuts, cookies, and fresh breads, along with sandwiches and prepared lunch options. Everything is straightforward, well-made, and reasonably priced, which is exactly why people keep coming back.

Buttafly Kisses Vegan Treats

Buttafly Kisses proves that plant-based baking can be just as rich and satisfying as anything traditional. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with friendly service that makes the experience feel personal.

From oatmeal cookies to carrot cake and red velvet cupcakes, everything tastes homemade and thoughtfully crafted. The use of natural, plant-based ingredients and dyes adds to the appeal, and even non-vegans will have a hard time telling the difference.

Sugar Shane’s focuses on fresh, in-house baking with a family-oriented feel. The shop has a welcoming energy, and the staff are known for being helpful and efficient.

The cookies are the highlight, especially the white chocolate macadamia and the stuffed snickerdoodle. They also offer banana crumb bread, brownies, cheesecake bars, and other specialty treats, all made with high-quality ingredients.

Valley’s Bakery

Valley’s Bakery is entirely gluten-free, but you would not know it from the texture and flavor of the pastries. The shop is clean, bright, and welcoming, with a team that clearly cares about what they are making.

The cheese danish, chocolate roll, and cinnamon roll croissant are all light and flaky, and the fresh sourdough bread is another standout. It is a strong choice for anyone avoiding gluten or simply looking for well-executed baked goods.

These are the bakeries I really go to. Not a “best of” list I found online. These are the stops I make between showings, after inspections, or when I have ten minutes to kill and want something good.

If you’re new to Cobb, start here. If you’ve lived here forever, you probably already know a few of these and should try the rest. And if you’re out house hunting or checking out a new neighborhood, this is an easy way to make the day better.

Good pastries. Good coffee. Good excuse to explore more of the city. That’s a solid plan.
